1)take screenshot of the thievery and your original image, paste them together into a single image

2)Upload as deviation

3)In image description, write your story

4)Click "CONTRIBUTE ART" icon on the top side of this group and submit the story of your stolen art.

5)If you can't find contribute art button or can't/don't want to upload the stolen work as a deviation, then click "Submit a Blog Entry" and write your story!

It must not be prevented, it must be punished!

"Preventing" art thievery is a foolish endeavour:

1)Watermarks ruin images

2)Disabling right clicking makes wallpaper lovers cry

3)You're cheating yourself out of POTENTIAL INCOME!
It's incredibly EASY to win cases of "artist vs art thieves" if they're in 1st world countries and if they've made profit off your art.
In most cases the artists win settlements in thousands of dollars without EVER going to court.

This letter is your MAIN WEAPON against ART THEFT!

If anyone ever steals YOUR work, this is what you write to the thieves, be they an individual/magazine/website/newspaper/music band/etc.
Simply fill in the blanks and erase the stuff in the brackets.

It has come to my attention that you have made an unauthorized use of my copyrighted Work entitled "____________ (name of stolen artwork)" in the publishing of a ___________(your website/advert/newspaper/magazine)

I have reserved all rights in the Work, which was first published on _______________ (date) at _______________(my website link), with copyright registered to me.
The advert which appears in your __________ (website/magazine), is essentially identical to the Work and clearly used the Work as its basis.

You neither asked for nor received permission to use the Work as the basis for the advert, nor to make or distribute copies of it. Therefore, I believe you have willfully infringed my rights under 17 USC Section 101, et seq. and could be liable for statutory damages as high as $100,000.
Under the copyright law I demand:
Compensation and Immediately cease the use and distribution of all infringing works derived from the Work, and all copies of it, and that you deliver to me all unused, undistributed copies of it, or destroy such copies immediately, and that you desist from this or any other infringement of my rights in the future.

Also, I demand a compensation for the use of the image.
Your company did not notify me, we did not sign any contracts, and I have not been paid for the use of my work.
If I have not received an affirmative response from you in two weeks, indicating that you are ready to discuss terms of payment for the use of my work and comply with my requirements, I shall consider taking the full legal remedies available to rectify this situation.

I'm sure that the original artist would appreciate it if you credited for their hard work/asked their permission on whether you are allowed to use/repost their work.

I know it's a trace, but it's a VERY obvious one. I would really like some help in trying to put a stop to this - I have tried contacting the offending user myself in notes, as has my good friend, and neither of us ever got a reply. A few other friends of mine (and myself) also commented on the offending deviation directly and the user flagged all comments as spam.

I can't believe I'm having to resort to this, but I feel like I must protect my own work. I'm sure many others who have been in the same position have felt the same.

Thank you for any support anybody can give. I would honestly appreciate it.
